A kata is a series of controlled movements of martial defense and offense against one or more imaginary opponents. The student begins to develop form, timing, basic body dynamics, body bio-mechanics and interpretation / visualization skills of the kata.

As the beginner progresses the focus becomes to enhance and fine-tune the previous skills and principles learned. Children’s Martial Arts Program

In Japan, the academic educational system is guided by the most experienced teachers. They are assigned to teach the youngest children. The reason for this is that children at a young age are "open-minded" and have the best potential ability to observe, listen and learn academic education and life skills. The main role of the teacher is to guide Children's Martial Arts Programthe children so they become self- teaching, self-thinking, and with self-discipline. This method of teaching has been used for over 3000 years from traditional martial arts.

The head instructors of Shaolin-Tzu Martial Arts Academy offer over 40 years of combined experience of study and teaching of many facets of traditional martial arts.

The Shaolin-Tzu Martial Arts Academy offers a unique traditional and educational martial arts program for children of age 6 to 14 years of age. Many of the children who start in our program have grown up to be young adults who continue their training in the adult classes.
